The Main Street Gym is proud to support Bozeman athletes of all ages and sports through sponsorship and training programs. We support and prepare both professional and recreational athletes throughout their training and their competitions. Whether the athlete is a professional skier, kayaker, cyclist, Olympic lifter, rodeo champion or a high school athlete training for the next sports season, we are there every step of the way.
For as long as he can remember, all Kris has wanted to do is ski. With a father as a ski coach for Bridger Ski Foundation, Kris literally grew up on the hill. When he was 7 he watched an unknown at the time, Tommy Moe, win the Olympic gold medal in Lillehammer. This is where my passion for ski racing took hold of me. Ever since that night when I watched Tommy win the gold, all I have ever wanted to do is race in the Olympics for the United States.
Kris has been steadily training ever since and his hard work, long hours and passion are paying off. In the Canadian Springs Series 2008 race held at Panorama, British Colombia, Kris started in the 40th position on the first runs and excelled to finish in the top 20 for the second runs, finishing in 13th position overall. He now has his sights set on the U.S. ski team and World Cup races. Last season he dropped his points by over half and hes been training to do the same thing this season. I am stronger than I have ever been before and skiing faster than I have ever skied before. I believe wholeheartedly that I can make it.
Without any day care nearby in her hometown of Big Sky, Montana, Keely Kellehers parents dropped her at the resorts ski school. Thats where she developed her passion for skiing and competition. To hone her skills in high school, she attended four years at Rowmark Ski Academy where she was team captain. Remaining true to her Montana roots, she came back to Bozeman to attend Montana State University all the while staying busy training and aiming for the World Cup.
Kelleher finished 8th overall in Europa Cup downhill points in 2008, had four top 10 finishes in Europa Cup 2008 and won the 2008 NorAm Downhill at Lake Louise. Despite broken bones and injuries (shes had six surgeries on her right leg), Keeley trains hard, remains dedicated, rests when needed and still makes time for family and other activities. She recently took 10 days away from the routine (but not the workouts) to attend the Rassias Language program at Dartmouth College where she learned German. When she isnt in the gym or on the ski hill you might find her kayaking with her sister, Brenna, a former junior world kayaking champion.
